Faulty Product

The project was going well when most of the parts were assembled. Unfortunately, the "E" components were soldered the wrong way. In the photo, the left component has the ports facing outward and you can easily plug the cables in which is good for one eye. However, the E components on the middle and right (the spare) are soldered inwards. This makes putting the cables in impossible. If you tried, the fragile cables will tear and your 2-eye tracking DIY project is over. Even if the cables were not fragile, the connecting ends on the cables do not have enough clearance to fit in the small space between the backward facing ports.

Fixing this issue solo is going to require buying other tools to undo the defects on the parts. This is not worth it in my opinion. Contacting the store hasn't gotten any results either. There has been no response since the message was sent from the "Contact Us" page. I recommend steering clear from the store until they can guarantee quality control and a prompt response to concerns.

Honestly fun to put together, and so much less stressful than I thought it'd be

Wish I had saved the money

The plug on these makes it incompatible with all prints for the quest 3, as the prints available only support the v4 lite and have plastic on the sides preventing the LEDs from being slotted in for the solderless v4 mini. In addition, the method for holding these in is just awful considering shear strength from printing, and I am shocked there isn't a better solution. I wish I'd saved the money and either bought the v4 lite or just not tried to make this. I have been making electronics and custom designed cases for years, and never have I run across one so infuriating to assemble solely due to the lack of any available quality prints. I've made it work for now... However I won't be a returning customer. This whole experience was the worst I've ever had regarding electronics assembly, and I'm not interested in communicating further. I've already moved on to other projects and left this behind me.

Hello, this is not true. V4 lite and V4 mini LEDs fit the exact same LED camera mounts. V4 LEDs of both lite and mini series have a standardized size and mounting method. The only difference is the driver board; the lite is taller and less supported (we barely sell any of them). If you need help, please reach out in our Discord or support email before leaving a review. We would be happy to assist you there and solve any issues or misunderstandings you may have.
